Two years ago, Bruce Huskins had an idea for Logan County.  His proposal came to life with the first annual Logan County Route 66 Garage Sale, hosted by the Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County.  This sale was dubbed "37 Miles of Smiles" and it indeed was a huge success.  People came from all over the state, as well as other areas of the country to participate in the Garage Sale. This year, the Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County is set to create even more excitement with a bigger and better event!

Sanctioned locations in Atlanta, Lincoln, Broadwell, and Elkhart, IL, will be packed with vendors on June 12th and 13th, 2009, all for your garage saleing pleasure.

The Route 66 Garage Sale is also a perfect opportunity for advertisers to get the word out about their businesses.  For a fee, businesses may advertise in the expanded Route 66 Garage Sale Pamphlet.  Ad deadlines are June 5th, so call 217-732-8687 to reserve space soon! The expanded pamphlet also offers map listings to garage sales along Route 66 (in Logan County) for a small fee.  Those wishing to be placed on the map should call by April 15th to beat the deadline.

 

This event wouldn't be possible without the dedication of our volunteers.  The Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County would like to offer the opportunity to volunteer at the Garage Sale to all interested parties.  Shifts are two hours long, and volunteers will be asked to help coordinate between the vendors and Garage Sale staff, as well as help with setup.
